Do Documentaries Show Reality?

Authenticity- No false, a reliable fact, includes only facts and no lies.

Similarities between "authentic" and "real" -

• They both talk about things that are true
• They are both existent and permanent

1. Time/space conflation, the producer uses film acquired at different times, and edits them in a way that suggests that theyhappened at the same time or sequentially.  
2. The asked for shot, the producer steps in front of the camera to alter some aspect of an experience in order to get a more attractive or more effective shot.  
3. Re-enactment, a producer uses actors and scripted dialogue in order to capture a visual event that was impossible to record while it was happening.
